As of September 13, 2024, heavy fighting continues in the Ukraine-Russia war, particularly in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Russian forces launched over 115 attacks in an attempt to breach Ukrainian defenses but faced significant setbacks. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled numerous offensives in Vovchansk, Kupiansk, and Siversk, with Russian casualties reported at over 200, including 80 fatalities. Ukrainian forces also destroyed several Russian drones, vehicles, and artillery systems.
In the Kupiansk direction, 11 Russian attacks were thwarted, while the Lyman and Vremivka sectors witnessed ongoing clashes. Russian airstrikes and missile attacks continued throughout the day, including 63 airstrikes and over 2,900 shellings on Ukrainian positions. Despite these aggressive maneuvers, Ukraine maintained strong defensive lines.
In addition, Ukrainian pilots began theoretical training on F-16 fighter jets in Romania, while Poland is preparing to send another batch of MiG-29 fighter jets to assist Ukraine’s efforts.
